For the clarification, Navision and Dynamics NAV are older names of the same product but with different version, which is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Business Central, for short.
Over the last few years, Login Systems have effectively transferred over 15 companies in 5 countries to Business Central. Some of these companies were previously utilizing Navision, Dynamics Nav 2009, 2015, or 2016. We have also completed migrations for Nav 2018.
Our key expertise is to take the data from the previous system, copy it to the new system (with necessary transformations) so that users can continue to use their data in the new system. Additionally, for some clients, we have transformed their customizations to Business Central as well.
Migration to the latest (newer) version of Business Central includes activities for transferring data from the existing system to the new system. It also includes adaptation, redevelopment, and/or redesign of existing customizations from the old system. We are suggesting users remove some customizations that are not relevant or for which Microsoft has introduced better alternatives.
Since there are different approaches to customizations, levels of complexity, and slightly different programming languages among versions, it is crucial for us to know which exact version needs to be migrated and to evaluate customizations and localizations for that version.
In essence, we are executing the following tasks:
One hour on-line briefing (free of charge)
Brief assessment of the current solution (half to 1 day)
Detailed analysis of the current solution (3 to 5 days)
Adaptation, redesign, redevelopment and removing current localizations and customizations (2 weeks to 3 months)
Data transfer procedure creation and migration of the data (2 to 4 weeks, depending on the version)
Monitoring system and users after going live (2 weeks)
On-going monthly support (depends on the support plan the customer has selected)
In order to secure the customer's investment, we are executing the aforementioned tasks one by one. For example, we agree on the first task regarding time, resources, budget (including payment terms), and then we execute it.
If the customer is satisfied and we determine that we are able to proceed with the job, we move on to the next task. Once we agree on the second task in terms of timing, resources, budget, and payment terms, we proceed.
After completing the second task, we are able to provide the customer with a more detailed offer/calculation that includes the scope of work, duration of time, prerequisites, as well as budget and payment terms. If the customer agrees, we will then fulfill other tasks for the final completion.
As for the fees, they are based on working hours. We accept payments prorated.
