In October 2023, Microsoft announced that it is releasing the latest version of its financial and business management system, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central 2023 wave 2. With this release came the newest version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central mobile app. This is version 4.0, available for iOS and Android, supports new versions of those operating systems and has some changes.

The most important thing about this new mobile app is the support for Barcode scanning. In terms of the supported barcode types, out of the box support, it supports most of the well 1D and 2D barcode formats. And probably the most important thing, it does support QR codes as well.
